Linden City Council President Robert Bunk formally announced his candidacy for mayor of Linden on Jan. 28.
Bunk’s announcement took place at the Knights of Columbus in Linden. Bunk a lifelong resident of the city. Previously, he was elected 3rd Ward councilman.
Professionally, Bunk retired from the Linden Police Department in 1992 with the rank of detective. He has been married to his wife Lorraine for 50 years and they have four adult children.

Last week, a former Linden resident was arrested and charged with 13 separate counts after an investigation revealed that he used another man’s identity to secure $270,000 in loans, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

LINDEN — Local officials are preparing to vote on a settlement agreement ending litigation surrounding the site of a proposed coal-fueled, electric-generating facility known as the “PurGen” plant. LINDEN — City officials are in the early stages of forming a consortium they hope will attract federal funding needed to deepen the Arthur Kill, allowing companies to more efficiently ship cargo into the city’s docks.
