Mildred Catinella
Mildred I. Catinella, 82, a lifelong resident of Linden, died Feb.
28 in the Elmora Hills Nursing Home, Elizabeth. Mrs. Catinella was
a waitress at the Coachman Inn, Cranford, for more than 20 years.
Prior to that, she worked for Singer Manufacturing Co., Elizabeth,
as an assembly line worker. Surviving are three daughters, Donna
Werrell, Lois and Katherine Catinella; two sons, Dominic and
Alfonse; a sister, Theresa Materniak; four grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. The Werson Funeral Home, Linden, handled the
arrangements.
Florence Cavalier
Florence Cavalier, 88, of Linden died March 2 in Trinitas Regional
Medical Center, Elizabeth. Born in Roselle, Mrs. Cavalier resided
in Linden since 1955. She was employed as an assembler for Regina
Corp., Rahway, for 17 years before retiring in 1980. Mrs. Cavalier
was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and 50-Plus Club of St.
Elizabeth Church, Linden, the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus
Council 2859, Linden, St. Mary’s Church 60-Plus Seniors, Elizabeth,
and the Roselle Active Seniors. Surviving are a sister, Agnes
Matlaga, and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Bruder. The
Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, Linden, handled the arrangements.
Robert Smith
Robert E. Smith, 63, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Linden, died
Feb. 26 in Boca Raton. Mr. Smith was a licensed private pilot, a
professional scuba diver and boater. He graduated from Amherst
College and Seton Hall Law School. Mr. Smith successfully managed
his own legal search firm. Surviving are his wife, Sarah; two
daughters, Rachel and Molly; a son, Michael; his mother, Margaret
Jean, and two sisters, Patricia Kornmeyer and Kathi. The Babione
Funeral Home, Boca Raton, handled the arrangements.
